Big Tech and Big Government Together Again
I don’t know about everyone else, but it creeps me out quite a bit when a large private entity offers up its resources to the state. It makes me wonder what is really happening behind the scenes. It will probably be argued that they are just being altruistic and helping the common person, but if that were the case, why didn’t they step in during the last administration?
In a letter to Biden, which was first reported by Reuters, Amazon worldwide consumer CEO Dave Clark said the company “stands ready to assist you in reaching your goal” of vaccinating 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of Biden’s presidency.
We knew that the media was going to carry water, especially after the fawning coverage yesterday.
MSNBC national affairs analyst John Heilemann said during his network’s coverage of President Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony that seeing the past president’s standing with Biden was like “the Avengers, sort of the Marvel superheroes back up there together.”
I think we need to look at everything with a jaded eye, especially now that the flower petals are being laid out for the new Whitehouse. Rather than calming down after they helped Biden win the Presidency, I believe that big tech is going to double their efforts now that they have a few hands on the official levers of power.
Expect to see more of this cozying up in the near term.
