Biden Talks Tough, Acts Soft on China

The Biden team has made a lot of noise about maintaining the status quo with China:

U.S. President Joe Biden and his predecessor Donald Trump may disagree about many things, but China isn’t one of them.

Biden’s team has shown early signs that it agrees with the previous administration on several “extremely touchy” issues concerning China, an American public policy expert said on Thursday.

The “early signals” show that the Biden administration “may change the tone and tenor of the conversation with Beijing — but they’re not really gonna change the policy,” said Lanhee Chen, director of domestic policy studies and lecturer at Stanford University.

All of this talk is meant to mollify critics. Its not likely to work. Prior to the election, a computer repair man turned over images of Hunter Biden’s laptop to Rudy Giuliani.  Those images have since made it to several news organizations.  What they found was disturbing in many ways.  Along with the explicit photos and inappropriate text messages, was a trove of emails. These emails document the connections between the Bidens and China:

Joe Biden and his family’s financial ties to China, recently exposed by emails found on a laptop belonging to his son, Hunter Biden, present a national security risk for America should he be elected president, experts and lawmakers told Breitbart News.

They said if Biden is elected president, he would be compromised by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because of the millions of dollars CCP-linked companies have poured into the business ventures tied to his son, Hunter Biden, other family members, and even Joe Biden himself.

While the loud mouths want you to look at the flashy lights and listen to the tough rhetoric, they do this in the background:

President Joe Biden has rescinded an executive order of former President Donald Trump that was designed to prevent foreign countries meddling with the U.S. power grid. Trump’s order specifically prohibited “any acquisition, importation, transfer, or installation” of bulk-power system (BPS) electrical equipment by “foreign adversaries.”

As part of his own “Executive Order on Protecting Public Health and the Environment and Restoring Science to Tackle the Climate Crisis,” President Biden suspended that effort.

China has a strategy that is called total war. This is the application of national power across the full spectrum of diplomatic, infrastructure, military and economic elements to destroy an enemy’s will or its capacity to wage war. Every advantage that is allowed to them will be seized and exploited. The Belt and Road initiative is another example of their power projection through seemingly peaceful means.

Allowing the Chinese a means of entry into our infrastructure is not just a bad idea, its dangerous.
