So Much for Restoring American Alliances
President Biden was going to repair our image abroad. That was one of the promises that he made during his campaign.
In his first foreign policy address since ascending to the nation’s highest office, President Joe Biden vowed to repair alliances through diplomacy and restore Washington’s leadership position on the global stage.
“America is back, diplomacy is back,” Biden said at the State Department, adding that his administration would work toward “reclaiming our credibility and moral authority.”
So how would you feel if instead of the leader of the free world recognizing your importance, you instead got called by a lackey:
U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris spoke to French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday, expressing her commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries, her office said in a statement.
President Joe Biden, a former vice president himself under Barack Obama, has had Harris at his side for multiple events during his early White House tenure, indicating he wants her to have a key role in implementing his political and policy agenda.
I wonder if Jen Psaki will be asked to explain this slight of a foreign leader. The national press has made a huge deal about Biden’s chops in foreign policy. If that were truly the case, this wouldn’t have happened.
This is also going to cause a lot more questions about his health. Not just by us either. Don’t think the Putins or Jinpings of the world wont notice. Bowing out of responsibilities like this are going to be remembered.
