China Caught Corrupting Public Servant
The outline of this story should seem familiar. China gets involved in a country’s government and corrupts some of the officials. Then those officials are stuck singing their praises and giving preferential treatment or else:
Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) indicted the Nigerian subsidiary of a Chinese construction firm for allegedly aiding the fraudulent cash transactions of a Nigerian senator amounting to roughly $13 million in 2014, the nation’s Premium Times reported Tuesday.
The Nigerian subsidiary of the state-run China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) firm allegedly helped Nigerian senator Stella Oduah launder millions of dollars during a five-month period, the Premium Times revealed.
This example is in Africa but I can think of a couple situations right here in the US that smell similar. Who could forget the incredibly annoying and outspoken Eric Swalwell:
When newly elected California representative Eric Swalwell arrived in Washington, DC, in January 2013, he brought three things with him: a reputation as someone to watch, having bumped off ossified 20-term Democrat incumbent Pete Stark in the primary; a crap ton of ambition; and a Chinese spy he was banging.
Mr. Swalwell wasn’t the only one with embedded Chinese spies. Senator Dianne Feinstein had a driver/gofer working in her senate office for a couple of decades:
In 2018, Politico reported at the time, a well-placed staffer in Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s California office was recruited by the Chinese government to report back about US politics.
Feinstein (D-Calif.) employed the Chinese spy for nearly two decades as her chauffeur, a gofer in her office and a liaison to the Asian American community, the San Francisco Chronicle reported at the time.
And the Chinese don’t just have contacts in the Democratic Party. There are other people in power that have dubious relationships with the Chinese government. Senator Mitch McConnell, through his wife, has done quite a bit of very lucrative business with the Chicoms:
Foremost Group, which is owned by Sec. Elaine Chao’s father and Sen. McConnell’s father-in-law James S.C. Chao, signed contracts with a subsidiary of the state-owned China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) for four bulk cargo ships in June and September 2017. In December 2017, Chao’s company signed another contract with state-owned CSSC at Foremost’s New York office for two massive 210,000-ton ships. James S.C. Chao and two of Elaine’s sisters were in attendance. So, too, was the Consul General of China in New York, as well as representatives from the CSSC. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Then on January 31, 2018, Foremost Group ordered four more 210,000-ton ships from CSSC. Angela Chao, sister to Sec. Elaine Chao and Foremost’s Deputy Chairman, said she expects cooperation between the two entities to extend into the future. In January 2017, Angela Chao joined the board of the state-owned Bank of China.
And I think we all know the ties that Hunter Biden has to the communist regime. We need to start looking at everyone in DC that seems to have a love for the red nation. I’ll bet there are a lot more ties there than we know about.
