Who Benefits from an Equitable Society?
This is not a question that I thought would need to be asked in a free society. Unfortunately, it has become the new buzzword for the wokesters, so here we are.
I guess we should look at what an equitable distribution is. At its most basic, it means that the outcome of whatever a person does, results in the same rewards. As the left sees it, it means that some people in society, specifically some designated protected classes, get the same stuff as the privileged white people.
So imagine that you are in charge. You have all of these different minorities, who when bundled together might make up a majority. That doesn’t work out too great. In any sustainable ponzi scheme you have to take from a larger group, and give it to a smaller one. Look at Obamacare. It only worked when you had a larger group of healthy people who didn’t need healthcare, forced to pay for the people who did. And hopefully the sick people would die soon anyway, so they wouldn’t weigh on the program for long.
So you need to divide the protected classes and keep them from realizing that together they form a majority. Pitting them against each other is a tried and true method. The system of Apartheid in South Africa is a good model.
You also need to define equitable, and it needs to be cheap. The easiest play is to just take everything from everyone. Then you dole it back out making sure that everyone gets the exact same thing.
This system would have to be controlled though. And that is where the managers come in. All of the goods and services need to be monitored, and funneled, and inventoried to ensure that everyone gets the same crap. It isn’t hard then to just keep a bit for yourself. As long as the masses remain divided, and keep producing things to be distributed, your bit of grift is hardly noticeable.
That is the friction in the system. The managers don’t produce anything, they don’t create, but they need to live like everyone else. So their cut is justifiable because they make sure everything keeps running.
And because everything has to flow through them, they are in power. Power and wealth are like matter and energy. They can be converted back and forth. So the real winners in a truly equitable society are the people in charge. You have the true minority, the managers, being taken care of by the majority.
