Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez piped up yesterday about the NYPD using a dog drone in place of a police officer. She seems to be yammering about the drone costing a lot of money.
Shout out to everyone who fought against community advocates who demanded these resources go to investments like school counseling instead.
Now robotic surveillance ground drones are being deployed for testing on low-income communities of color with under-resourced schools 👍🏽 https://t.co/ZqKtnexctb

If someone with just about less than average intelligence thought about this a minute, they could probably noodle out some basic numbers. The starting pay for an NYPD officer is around 45k. If they are there for 5 years, it is around 85. So lets say 65k. So that would be about three years worth of a NY cop that is on duty. What if there wasn’t a drone, and you sent a cop instead, and he got shot in the line of duty? I don’t know what an average night stay in a NY hospital runs, but after a brief search on the googlebox, it seems to be more than a motel 6.
And at least for now, we can assume the drone doesn’t need a retirement plan. Not until the union bosses figure out a way to get it to vote for representation.
In the long run that robot doggie is quite a bit of saved money. But we know that the good congresswoman isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer. Here she is crying in anguish over the children at the border.
Her performance needs work. https://t.co/9bKgA4vjx9

It turns out that there weren’t any kids there at all. If I was going to put on some political theater like this, I would control the cameras a little better. This is one of the biggest face palm moments of her career so far.
And with her sharp as a pudding cup intellect it wont be the last.
