The researchers have been researching, as they do, and have noticed that the pandemic lockdowns have resulted in a huge drop in CO2. The world economic forum also made the lockdowns into a good thing. They even released a video talking about how great it was, until the blowback forced them to take it down. Here is the video:

It turns out that a lot of people weren’t big fans of putting people out of work, taking kids out of school, and surrendering their freedoms.

But that isn’t enough to stop the climate change nutbags. They think we should have the equivalent of these lockdowns every two years to help fix the planet.

In short, the nations of the world will need to do much, much more if they are to meet the CO₂emissions reduction targets set out by the Paris Climate Agreement. This is predicated on the idea that by keeping global industrial CO₂emissions below a certain level, mankind will somehow tweak the global temperature control knob to such effect that planetary warming will be kept within a supposedly safe range of “1.5 °C to well below 2 °C.”

And in order to achieve this, the report’s lead author Corinne Le Quéré says, there must be the equivalent of a global lockdown every two years.

This would be a great fallback position for the left if their “For the People Act” doesn’t pass the Senate. That bill would essentially cement all of the voting fixes that were implemented in the 2020 elections into federal law. That would essentially overwrite state laws where the authority currently sits.

It seems a perfect fit though if they could line up these shutdowns with the election cycles. They could then tie their voting reforms to saving the planet.
