There has been talk for years about Iranian agents crossing our southern border. They could then operate as cells and wreak all kinds of unknown havoc.
This may need to be looked into as more than just an imagined threat though. An Iranian militia has recently made threats that suggest they have people here already:
“Resistance cells are rooted even in America and its capital,” the militia posted last week on Telegram, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute [MEMRI], which monitors threats of terrorism and jihad. The militia posted the warning Mar. 2 on the Kawtheryoon Electronic Team, a network used by Iranian militia sympathizers, according to MEMRI.
In the English language version of the post, the group directed its message at the U.S. and Israeli armies.
Iran is known for its hyperbole directed at the US and Israel, but there may actually be some teeth behind their latest threats. Just last month there were several Iranians caught trying to sneak into the country. This report was put out by Fox on February 4th:
U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested 11 Iranian citizens after they crossed the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona Monday evening.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents encountered the group near San Luis – a city in the southwest corner of Arizona – around 6 p.m. near County 21st Street and the Salinity Canal.
We know about these of course, because they were caught. How many have made it across without being picked up? We will probably never know the total number. But with the Biden team making a complete mess out of the southern border, we can probably expect a lot more to get in. A lot of resources that are normally patrolling for illegal border crossers are being redirected to deal with the influx created by Biden’s new policies.
Iran has been saying that they are going to avenge the assassination of General Soleimani who was killed by the Trump administration in an air strike. Some of their agents have already been caught conducting reconnaissance on some of our embassies overseas. This may be one of the ways that they intend to act.
