I think we knew where this train was heading. Most of the country didn’t vote for this guy, and there was a reason for that. Biden was nothing more than an anti-Trump candidate. Looking at the results have have come in so far, it is obvious that just being opposite Trump isn’t going to work.
Perhaps the easiest place to point at is the southern border. The Biden team railed against the kids in cages, that were actually put in place under Obama, but they managed to bungie cord to Trump. Their answer was to offer a more “humane” way to approach things. This was translated into Spanish as the “everybody is welcome” message. Thousands of people were grouping up and heading north to be in place as soon as the inauguration was conducted. Thus was born the border crisis which we are now seeing.
The Biden team is now trying to re-roll the welcome mat by saying the border is closed. Except to a whole bunch people that it isn’t. If an enterprising immigrant parent can’t get in themselves, but still wants some of that sweet US Government money, they just have to send their kids. This is because the border is closed, of course, well kind of.
President Trump also took a hard line against China. He was able to pick up what the communists were putting down. They didn’t just want trade, they wanted dominance. And it isn’t that hard to get it if you are willing to enslave your own people for manufacturing labor. Once US corporations got used to the new bottom line using the next to free slave force, they surely didn’t want to give that up.
Team Biden went with a different track on China. He pretty much had to after they financed his family business, and threw him an assist with the election. He was even right with his prediction that they would “eat our lunch.” After Secretary of State Blinken was used to wipe the floor of the Alaskan bilateral meeting room, it is doubtful he had any lunch money left. China definitely get the message that Biden was going to be subservient.
The middle east is another area where Trump broadcast his intentions and followed through. He recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moved our embassy there. He also provided support to the tiny democratic nation surrounded by enemies. The relationship that he had with the David of the middle east was celebrated by Jews around the world.
President Biden has been little more than lukewarm to Israel. He waited a month before contacting Benjamin Netanyahu after his swearing in. He has broadcast his intention to rejoining the disastrous JCPOA which Israel strongly opposes. And finally, the signals that he is sending with his policy in the ME are mixed at best.
It is clear that just being anti-Trump isn’t a winning policy approach when smashed against reality. That could be the root cause though. Liberals tend to look away from reality and impose their beliefs no matter the actual results. The results are clearly saying that the Trump tactics were influencing favorable strategic results. If the current commander in chief cannot keep a grasp on reality well enough to recognize that, we may need to think about going a different way.
After all, President Trump had to deal with the world as it was, not they way he wished it to be. The policies put in place were responses to real world events, and events seen on the horizon. He dealt with where he was, not some fantastical utopian version of reality with unicorns and leprechauns.
