I remember reading this story at the time an I was doubled over with laughter. It is the absolute perfect example of the hypocritical left and illustrates that what they claim to stand for has no meaning whatsoever.
The Omaha suspension of a white high-school student originally from South Africa is sending shock waves across America as debate rages over who can claim rights to the term “African-American.”
The case centers on Trevor Richards, a junior at Westside High School, who moved from Johannesburg to Nebraska six years ago.
Richards and his classmates, 16-year-old twins Paul and Scott Rambo, were booted from classes last week after distributing posters touting Trevor as a candidate for Westside High’s “Distinguished African-American Student” award on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
So what it looks like happened here is that the white kid didn’t get the prize because of the color of his skin. I initially thought the same thing. That is until I was educated about our current Vice President. She was apparently celebrated as the first African American to represent California in the US Senate. Ok, I guess we can go with that if the term African American really just means darker than obvious white people. I think it is wrong, but at least it is consistent.
Imagine my surprise when just in the last couple of months, that all changed somehow. She is now the first Asian American person to be VP, who happens to be black. You see, her mother is from India, and her father from Jamaica. So somehow that makes her Asian. Incidentally Kamala wasn’t raised in India, or Jamaica either. She grew up in California and Montreal.
Obviously skin color, is one important aspect. It should be pointed out though that no white person, no matter where they grew up, can claim to be African American. The African Caucasian kid in Nebraska mentioned above is one example.
So the ingredients that make up someone’s race are really ideology and skin tone. We don’t have to look too far for proof of this. How about looking at one of the people I admire, Clarence Thomas. He is reviled by the supposed gatekeepers of the African American community. A lot of them even say that he isn’t black, despite many photographs that seem to indicate differently. He has the skin tone, but not the requisite ideology.
That is why the young white kid from Africa, who lives in Nebraska is the greatest example of the meaning of racism today. It really has no meaning except division.
