It seems to happen more often these days. A news outfit will push out unbelievable claims based on anonymous sources. The intent is saturate the cycle and cause as much damage as possible. Then it quietly retracts the main points of the article in the background.
We saw this technique used extensively during the Trump years. In a very recent example, the New York Times made the claim that Officer SickNick was killed by injuries sustained from thrown fire extinguisher during the capitol riots on January 6th. They quietly rewrote some of the article a month later to reflect the ever changing “truth.”
Law enforcement officials initially said Mr. Sicknick was struck with a fire extinguisher, but weeks later, police sources and investigators were at odds over whether he was hit. Medical experts have said he did not die of blunt force trauma, according to one law enforcement official.
Then there is the other side of the coin. The media will happily run articles providing cover for political operatives. Possibly the most egregious example is the cover they gave to Hunter Biden before the election. This is from Breitbart:
National Public Radio (NPR) has corrected an article that claimed that reports last year about emails on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop had been “discredited by U.S. intelligence and independent investigations by news organizations.”
The article now says: “Numerous news organizations cast doubt on the credibility of the laptop story.” A correction notes: “A previous version of this story said U.S. intelligence had discredited the laptop story. U.S. intelligence officials have not made a statement to that effect.”
There was overwhelming evidence that the laptop did in fact belong to the Biden trouble child. This included repair receipts with his signature, to eyewitness accounts of him turning the computer over.
Why these so called news outfits think we will believe a single fact check done under their roofs is incredible. Many of these companies are demonstrably compromised by not only the left, but by Chinese money as well.
This just shows that the information peddled by these organizations is very often only part of the story. The rest of the news is often behind the headlines. Its hidden in the reasoning of why they are feeding these headlines into the information bloodstream. There is a hidden motive behind too much of it. Everything put out by these mouthpieces should be looked at with a jaundiced eye,
