I keep reading about the increase of attacks against the Asian community here in America. A lot of times you don’t hear about the race of the attacker though. If the attacker is white you have the President and Vice President coming out to stomp all over the crime scene. If not, the attack just adds to the statistics, and lumped into a larger number the next time a white person can be blamed.
Check out some of the headlines covering the Atlanta shooting of “massage” parlors in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago.

“White Supremacy Literally Killing Us”: Anger After Atlanta Spa Killings
You should be able to pick up the theme here. Even though the motive of the shooter seemed to be a sick sort of revenge for places that he thought fueled his sexual addiction.
You see, the media gets to pick the narrative. They don’t let facts or truths guide reporting. That is why the race of other Anti-Asian attackers isn’t broadcast. It doesn’t play as well. Here are a few examples.

All of these headlines are stories about Blacks attacking Asians, but I haven’t heard the President condemn Black Supremacy yet. I think we all see what is happening. It is ok for minorities to be the aggressors against other people. It is because they have all been treated badly by white people. Somehow, minorities attacking other minorities is because of white people too. And of course, there is a theory that supports this:
The “model minority” concept is attributed to sociologist William Petersen’s 1966 New York Times story detailing the quiet successes of the Japanese community after the devastation of internment during World War II. The myth upholds Asians as models for other minorities to emulate and suggests that Asians have somehow overcome racism because of their economic successes. When Black communities in the civil rights movement demanded structural changes, such as access to jobs and education, the myth blamed them for not cultivating the individual attitudes and work ethic that would supposedly allow them to overcome racism. We know that individual achievements cannot undo racism and does not protect you from racist violence, as the attacks against AAPI communities have revealed.
It’s a fallacy that ignores the reality that, while white supremacy is the foundation, racism is not experienced in the same way by all communities; the racialized character of capitalism means that value is extracted through differentiation and the differential valuation of marginalized communities.
Did you follow that? Asians were interned because of white people. Afterwards, they quietly seemed to overcome racism. Because of that perception, they were held up as an example for the Black community to follow. When the Blacks didn’t, they blamed the Asians, but it wasn’t their fault because of white people. Its so simple!
It would be easier if they could just turn Asians into white people. Then all of this could be justified without having to jump backwards through their own grommets. Don’t think it can’t happen. George Zimmerman, a Hispanic, was relabeled a white Hispanic to give the shooting of Trayvon Martin a white supremacist angle.
