Calls for another investigation into the origin of COVID-19 continue to multiply, and China is trying hard to deflect attention. With several nations now saying that the lab in Wuhan being the likely culprit, the communists have brought several more sweat pumps on line and are pointing back at the US. The Global Times web site jumped into the fray yesterday:
If they see the “lab leak” theory as one of the directions of the investigation, the Wuhan Institute of Virology should not be the only one included. Since 2019, the Fort Detrick biolab has shown many signs worthy of attention, and should be included in the first group of targets for investigation. In addition, the US has also built an astonishing number of biolabs in Asia, and investigating them is an urgent project that must be added in the COVID-19 origins-tracing.
Ft Detrick in Maryland has been used by the government in the past for secret experiments in bio-weaponry, mind control, and other controversial areas.
The Global Times claims that the Wuhan lab “has stated that it has had zero infections for all employees since the COVID-19 outbreak.” The time period that they claim is the start of the outbreak is not mentioned in their article.
They also go on to say that other areas of concern need to be looked at by the World Health Assembly. Writing about the WHA, they say that “the assembly should focus on how to control the pandemic as soon as possible and fairly distribute the COVID-19 vaccines.” China has been a critic of the US, saying that we have hoarded vaccines for our own people instead of distributing it to the world.
The Chinese are likely trying to accomplish multiple goals with their finger pointing at Ft Detrick. It directs attention away from Wuhan, and information about the United States’ secret programs are embarrassing for Washington. The now revealed CIA program MK-ULTRA was conducted in secret there.
It remains to be seen how well the CCP’s influence operations within our government and the World Health Organization will be in muddying the waters.
