It should be obvious that greed and envy are the motives for socialism with all of the examples that we have to look at. The co-founder of the BLM scam turning out to be a real estate baron is just one. Multitudes of the the socialist Green New Deal proponents fly in private jets, own yachts, and generally destroy the environment on massive scales. Even Ocasio-Cortez, one of the left’s most vocal idiots, lives in a swanky apartment in DC with amenities most would love to have. You don’t see them distributing their wealth on a scale that they demand of everyone beneath them.
But perhaps the most telling of all of their hypocrisies is the fact that they haven’t left the United States. Despite several socialist utopias in existence around the world, they choose to stay here and wail about equity and wage gaps. Why is that?
It is actually pretty simple. In the socialist wonderlands, the people don’t have anything. How are the elites supposed to redistribute wealth amongst a populace that doesn’t have anything to redistribute? It also doesn’t make sense to go to a place like Venezuela because the government has already bilked their population. Dictator Maduro isn’t going to share unless you have a specific value to him.
Our leaders that spend so much energy pushing these policies assume that they are going to remain in the ruling class. That means that not only will they retain the power and wealth they already have, but will gain access to everyone else’s as well. And why not? They are the ones that write the policies. If you think they won’t exempt themselves, reflect on the fact that our legislators get paid something over a hundred grand a year, but become millionaires while in office.
They sell the idea that under socialism, everyone can become like them. In reality everyone that is not part of the elite gives their wealth to “the state.” Guess who that is. Yep, the same people that sold everyone on it.
To paint a picture of how this all actually works is pretty easy. Put a couple of inches of water into a 5 gallon bucket and mark the level. Then fill a drinking straw with water. The straw represents the wealthy of society and the water in the bucket everyone else. Now empty the straw of water into the bucket and remark the level of water. Note the difference.
Unfortunately that is not the whole exercise. Now take an empty cup and scoop some water out of the bucket. That represents the government’s take. You can add that to a different bucket of water that doesn’t get mixed in with the general supply. All of that now belongs to the elite above us.
That is how socialism is envisioned by our ruling class. It makes perfect sense that they would want to implement it here in the wealthiest country in the world. There is so much they could get their hands on.
“Our leaders that spend so much energy pushing these policies assume that they are going to remain in the ruling class.”
