I haven’t posted in a hot minute, but this lady is incapable of thinking for herself. I usually assume that grown adults who have a little life experience, regulate what they say. This is not the case for this gal. Print a democrat talking point and she will defend it without any reason. To wit:
Whoopi on who makes the decision to have an abortion: “My doctor, myself and my child!” pic.twitter.com/YaascCCDnb

(And I am not a lawyer, so read my content with that in mind, but I can read and that seems all that is required here.)
The comments are worth reading through on this one. Is she saying the child gets a say on killing itself? No, I think she was just running off at the mouth, but it might reveal something. She might actually be saying that the bundle of cells in the womb is actually a life. So does that mean she is ok with a pregnant woman committing murder?
Now, I am a man, and have never had to deal with being pregnant, but my mother taught me that if you lay with a woman (yeah, I know that is a dated way of saying it), you are responsible for the possible outcomes.
So I have a couple of thoughts here. One is that anyone with a third grade education can read the Constitution. Nowhere does it mention abortion (as an afterthought, also search for the word ‘democracy,’ it isn’t there).
It also doesn’t mention ‘privacy,’ as most people seem to think it does. It does mention ‘unreasonable searches and seizures’ in the fourth amendment, which a lot of people seem to think is the same thing as. I believe that if they wanted to grant a right to privacy, they would have used the word ‘privacy,’ but they didn’t.
To sum up this post: There is no right to abortion, or privacy, in the constitution. Therefore, it is laid upon each state to determine its own course. For justification, please refer to the Tenth Amendment which states pretty clearly that all powers not given to the federal government, shall be retained by the states.
So, if the Roe decision gets kicked to he curb, it is not the end of the world. All it means is that each state gets to decide to allow abortion or not, which means people from each state gets to vote on it. Places like California, and Oregon, and several others are sure to hold the Democratic line.
And the bottom line is that Whoopi is an idiot. You should never listen to that airhead.
Hi Jay! I’m grateful we live in a country with freedom to voice our opinions, to stand up for what we think is right, and to engage in intellectual dialog! God Bless America! And thank you for this post!
This conversation topic references an area where I have grown a lot with age. In my youth, I thought that campaigning to prevent abortions was being an advocate for unborn children. At that time, I also agreed with the Catholic perspective that birth control was preventing pregnancy and therefore was preventing a child from being born. As a young adult, I cherished the idea of having children as a blessing. I was fortunate that I was not in any situation that involved an unintentional pregnancy, and I was naive to the reality that in some situations, pregnancy can kill the mother. I still value life and I still respect people who stand up for their values. I still believe that deep down people want to do the right thing. Now I understand part of why people disagree about what is the right thing to do. Now I am wise enough to understand that there’s not always a clear line between good and bad. Now I focus my energy to ♥️ LOVE ♥️ people unconditionally, and respect them enough to make their own choices. Whether those choices include vaccinations, wearing a mask, or having an abortion, I support people by allowing them the freedom to make their own decisions.
I am grateful for this thoughtful article you have written! And I am grateful that you advocate for doing what’s right!
