Does anyone really believe that the White House didn’t know about Nina Jankowicz’s twitter account, and the absolute moonbattery that was showcased there? If somehow you aren’t familiar with it, here is a sample:

I guarantee they knew, and not only did they know, they thought is was exactly what they needed. Why do I know this? A quick look at this administration’s recent history will prove it out. Who could forget about the influencers summit they held to get the Truth™ out to the masses. This is from Townhall:
According to The Washington Post, the White House hosted a Zoom call on Thursday to push its messaging — which has included blaming Putin for inflation caused by Biden’s economic and energy policies — to more than two-dozen TikTok stars. “Jen Psaki briefed the influencers about the United States’ strategic goals in the region and answered questions on distributing aid to Ukrainians, working with NATO and how the United States would react to a Russian use of nuclear weapons,” explained the Post’s report.
And what was the result of this first ever influencers summit?

This poor Tiktok teeny is made to spout things she most likely doesn’t understand, to people who really only care about what she is wearing, or the music she is dancing to.
It makes sense on a very superficial level though. These Tiktok stars are not going to ask questions, or push back against the Narrative™. They are just happy to sound sophisticated and smarter than their followers.
Does any of it make a difference though? I don’t believe so. The audience that these influencers have sway over most likely don’t have any weight over the class of people that this type of message needs to get to. The working middle class people who have to worry about where gas and food comes from will not be listening to those that think the refrigerator magically refills itself every night. The netizens that eat this stuff up may be good to send as cannon fodder for the culture wars, but aren’t going to be changing the right minds.
But, this looks like an easy win for this out of touch administration. They can point to these ineffectual episodes and show the donors that they are getting stuff done, when in reality, they are just making white noise.
I mostly agree with this well written analysis, except for one minor point. TikTok is now the most used social media app in the world and it’s reach extends far beyond teenagers. Working middle class people are definitely on TikTok. To say whether or not an influencer can persuade them is debatable. However, I do agree that those influencers who were invited to the White House are not likely to push back or question the administration and that it’s ridiculous to think they didn’t know about Jankowicz’s social media accounts.
First of all, people who dance on TikTok are not necessarily lacking in intelligence. Sometimes TikTok’ers dance to enjoy themselves in a world filled with chaos, depression, and turmoil. And sometimes they are just being silly and having fun!
